PC SERVICE AT COMPUMAC

Get ready for Windows 11.

We check your PC, secure your data transfer with you and guide you through the switch to Windows 11 – in our store or, by arrangement, at your place.

What happens to my PC?

Three questions at most. Then you know which way suits you – and what the next step with us is.

Which way fits depends on your PC and your programs. The four ways are described further down – or we work it out together in an appointment.

Which Windows is running on your PC?

What it means for Windows 10.

Standard support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025. Since then, security updates have only been available through Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program: for home users until October 12, 2027, and for businesses as an annual license for up to three years after the end of support. You’ll need Windows 10 version 22H2. Microsoft 365 Apps will keep receiving security updates on Windows 10 until October 10, 2028. Without ESU, your PC will keep working, but it won’t get any more security updates.

Is your PC ready for Windows 11?

The upgrade itself is free from Microsoft if your PC runs Windows 10 version 22H2 and meets these minimum requirements:

  • Processor Compatible 64-bit processor with at least 1 GHz and 2 coresWhere older PCs often fall short
  • Memory 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage
  • Security UEFI with Secure Boot and TPM 2.0Where older PCs often fall short
  • Graphics Graphics with DirectX 12 or later and a WDDM 2.0 driver
  • Setup For Windows 11 Home: an internet connection and a Microsoft account during setup

Microsoft’s free PC Health Check app shows you whether your PC qualifies. Older PCs often fall short on the processor or the TPM. If so, we’ll talk you through the alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the upgrade cost?

Dropping off your PC is free, and Windows 11 itself is free from Microsoft for eligible PCs. Your initial consultation is free. We’ll tell you the price for the check, backup and upgrade before we get started. We’ll also tell you in advance about any extra work, such as moving to a new PC.

Will I keep my data and programs?

When an eligible PC is upgraded, files and most programs are usually kept. We still make a backup first, and we check important applications in advance.

My PC doesn’t meet the requirements. What now?

Then you have three options: keep using Windows 10 with ESU until October 2027, move to a new PC or switch to Mac. We’ll advise you on which option suits your programs.
